Burnham Elementary School

Dear Burnham Families,

I'm excited to welcome you and your child back to Burnham Elementary School for the start of the 2023 school year! I hope that you had a restful and enjoyable winter break.

As we begin the new year, I wanted to take a moment to remind you of a few important details for the start of the school year. First, Burnham School will resume in-person classes on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. In order to ensure the safety of our students and staff, we will be following all recommended health and safety guidelines, including daily temperature screenings of all students and staff. After school tutoring and extracurricular activities, such as girl's volleyball, will begin immediately on January 4th, with bus transportation provided home at 4:30 pm for those students that require it. 

As we end the first semester of the school year, we would like to remind you that we will soon be conducting the NWEA MAP Test (Measures of Academic Progress) on 1/24/2023-1/25,2023, an adaptive achievement and growth test. It creates a personalized assessment experience by precisely measuring each student's progress and growth by adapting to each student's learning level. We will provide student interventions to help increase our students' academic growth.
Please encourage your children to do their best on these assessments, as we will use them to determine our interventions.

I also want to remind you of our policies and procedures for attendance, tardiness, and absences. If your child is going to be absent or tardy, please be sure to contact the school as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or any of the other staff members at Burnham School. We are always here to help and support your child's education.

¡Estoy emocionado de darle la bienvenida a usted y a su hijo a la Escuela Primaria Burnham para el comienzo del año escolar 2023! Espero que haya tenido unas vacaciones de invierno tranquilas y agradables.

Al comenzar el nuevo año, quería tomarme un momento para recordarles algunos detalles importantes para el comienzo del año escolar. Primero, Burnham School reanudará las clases presenciales el miércoles 4 de enero de 2023.
