We are sharing information from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regarding a new financial opportunity for families called the Trump Account.
This program allows eligible children under the age of 18 to have a special individual retirement account (IRA) established on their behalf. To qualify, a child must:
Be under 18 years old by the end of the election year
Have a valid Social Security Number
Not already have a Trump Account established
Parents or guardians can submit IRS Form 4547 at any time or when filing their 2025 tax return (including extensions). While accounts can be set up earlier, funding will begin starting July 4, 2026.
This initiative is designed to help give children a strong financial start for their future. Additional resources, including publications and fact sheets, will be made available throughout 2026.
We encourage families to review this opportunity and consider whether it may benefit their child.
