Burnham School District 154.5 currently has a vacancy on the Board of Education. We are seeking a dedicated resident of the Village of Burnham who is interested in serving our school community in this important leadership role.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be a resident of the Village of Burnham

• Be a registered voter

• Be at least 18 years old

• Not be an employee of the school district

Responsibilities of a School Board Member

Board of Education members serve as the governing body for the school district and are responsible for:

• Establishing district policies and goals

• Hiring and evaluating the Superintendent

• Overseeing the district budget and financial planning

• Reviewing curriculum and academic performance

• Representing the interests of the community

• Attending regular meetings and participating in board activities

Serving on the Board is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the educational success and well-being of Burnham students and families.
