Welcome back!  It is hard to imagine that school is starting on Aug. 23rd for the students.  This will be a short day with class from 8:30  to 10:00 a.m.  While this is a short day, it is an important one.  The teachers assign desks, lockers, and homework on this first day.  Please make sure your child has his school supplies and brings them to school on that first day.

Students are to be in line ready to go at 8:20 a.m. They will enter the building at 8:30.  Please don't send your child early as there is no to watch them until 8:20 a.m.  Also, this is a good time to form the habit of getting to school on time.  Students who are late twice will be spending time after school with the principal. Being punctual pays off in the future when your child needs to be at work on time.  Get the habit now rather than hope they can figure it out later.

We have the same staff as of last year.  Burnham School has a seasoned,wonderful, and caring staff that always puts the needs of the children before their own.

I am looking forward to working with everyone this ultimate year of my teaching career.  Please call (708) 862-8636 if your child is going to be absent.  The State says the school must try to contact the home to see why a child is not in school if the parents does not call first.  Please help out the secretaries by calling.

This year the school sponsored a "Jump Start" program to allow students who needed a little more help to get a leg up.  The program met for nine days before school and the children worked on reading and math for two hours a day.  Mrs. Kaymark and Ms Lippert were willing to give up two weeks of their free time before school started to help students.  I would like to thank them, the students, and the parents who got the students to school for their dedication to learning.
